WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City") seeks funding to create green spaces for residents at the Bridge Housing Community, a new housing development 51-63 Elizabeth Avenue in the South Ward of Newark which will provide 20 chronically homeless Newark residents with transitional housing, meals, and supportive services
WHEREAS, on November 7, 2023, the Director of the Mayor's Office of Homeless Services on behalf of the City submitted an application to The Nature Conservancy, with offices at 200 Pottersville Road, Chester, NJ 07930, for grant funds to purchase trees and shrubs for the Bridge Housing Community; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the grant application and pursuant to the selection and approval of The Nature Conservancy, the City has been awarded a grant in the amount of Twenty-Eight Thousand Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($28,050.00) to purchase trees and shrubs for Comes As You Are: Bridge Housing Community; and
