WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint fifty (50) Constables; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council wishes to amend Resolution 7R9-e adopted on May 2, 2012, as to the appointment term of April 19, 2012 through April 18, 2013 to May 29, 2012 through May 29, 2013.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Timothy Peters, 15-19 Peck Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07107, be and is hereby appointed Constable for a one (1) year term commencing on May 29, 2012 through May 29, 2013, in accordance with his application to serve subpoenas and collect fines.
2. Prior to entering and upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by Resolution of the Municipal Council.
3. The Municipal Council hereby ratifies its authorization of this resolution from May 29, 2012 through the date of adoption of this amending resolution.
