AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:15-2, MULTIWAY STOP INTERSECTIONS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY DESIGNATING SHEPHARD AVENUE AND SCHUYLER AVENUE AS A MULTI-WAY STOP SIGN INTERSECTION.

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering desires to improve safety at the intersection of Shephard Avenue and Schuyler Avenue, in the South Ward, by requiring drivers to stop at all approaches before entering the intersection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:15-2, Multi-way Stop Intersections, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
Shephard Avenue and Schuyler Avenue
Section 2. Any ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 4. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
STATEMENT
This ordinance places Stop signs on all the intersection approaches of Shephard Avenue and Schuyler Avenue, in the South Ward.
