WHEREAS, the Department of Child and Family Well-Being/Childhood Lead Poison Prevention Program desires to continue to provide comprehensive lead prevention and healthy homes services related to ensuring the environmental health and safety of the children of Newark; and

WHEREAS, the Kresge Foundation has made funds available for the Advancing Safe and Healthy Homes for Children and Families Initiative (ASHHCFI) Planning Project for the period June 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012; and

WHEREAS, on May 9, 2012, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Child and Family Well-Being, submitted an application to the Kresge Foundation, 3215 West Big Beaver Road, Troy, Michigan 48083, requesting grant funding in the amount of $50,000.00, to develop an effective strategy to implement the Advancing Safe and Healthy Homes Initiative Planning Project by identifying current strengths and weaknesses, gap analysis, and assessing current resources and infrastructure with respect to policy-making, advocacy, le...
