WHEREAS, on MAY 15, 2012, the City of Newark through its Purchasing Director advertised to solicit bids for Transportation of the Elderly and Physically Challenged (Program for Senior Citizens), which the contractor will provide to the City of Newark, for the Department of Child and Family Well-Being’s usage as described in the attached bid proposal; and

WHEREAS, the Division of Central Purchasing distributed eight (8) bid packages, to prospective vendors following the date of advertisement; and;

WHEREAS, on June 7, 2012, two (2) bids were received in response to this advertisement; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Child and Family Well-Being reviewed the bids received and recommended an award be made to Axion of New Jersey, LLC ; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director concludes from review and evaluation that an award be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Axion of New Jersey, LLC; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-24, the vendor agreed to hold their prices beyond 60 days; and
