United States Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency/The Port Authority of NY & NJ awarded the City of Newark $56,250.00 requiring a cash match of $18,750.00 bringing the total program resources to $75,000.00 for the 2008 Port Authority Security Grant.

WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $56,250.00 and no adequate provision has been made in the 2012 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by resolution 7R6-a dated 041812, the City of Newark accepted from the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) / The Port Authority of NY & NJ funds to purchase a MAC SIC Quick Attack Response Vehicle to assist in the protection of critical port infrastructure from terrorism; and
