AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-5.1, FOUR HOUR PARKING FOR NON-RESIDENTIAL VEHICLES, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY ADDING WARWICK STREET.

WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic and Signals, as per the request of the residents and business owners, wishes to limit parking to four (4) hours on both sides of Warwick Street, between Jefferson Street and Pacific Street, in the East Ward, for vehicles without a residential parking permit; and
WHEREAS, the parking limitation will increase and improve traffic flow and encourage parking space turnover for residents, visitors, businesses and customers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:5-5.1, Four Hour Parking for Non-residential Vehicles, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
Warwick Street, between Jefferson Street and Pacific Street
Both sides, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
Section 2. Any existing ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 4. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
STATEMENT
This ordinance limits vehicles that do not possess a residential permit to a four (4) hour parking limitation at any of the parking spaces along both sides of Warwick Street, between Jefferson Street and Pacific Street, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the East Ward.
