WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $1,282,897.00 for Broad Street and Tichenor Street/ Lincoln Park, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 7th Avenue/Crane Street (2014 Locations Safety Program) - Construction and no adequate provision has been made in the 2014 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 7R4-b dated October 29, 2013, the City of Newark accepted a grant in the amount of $1,282,897.00 from the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), for the unique and comprehensive way to improvement safety within the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 7th Avenue/Crane Street as well as Broad Street and Tichenor Street/Lincoln Park corridors. No Municipal funds are required; and
