Whereas, Nelson Bartolomeu of the City of Newark, New Jersey has played a major role in the productivity of this community; and
Whereas, the residents of the City of Newark is very fond of the accomplishments of this consummate public servant; and
Whereas Nelson Bartolomeu, efforts and self-sacrifice helped to build on the Social, Health, Religious Welfare and Political Progress of this community; and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council wants to commemorate the progress made by Nelson Bartolomeu
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT, it does hereby authorize the naming of Lafayette Street and Jackson Street as Nelson Bartolomeu Plaza for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
1. Naming Lafayette Street and Jackson Street as Nelson Bartolomeu Plaza, for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain Lafayette Street and Jackson Street in their entirety.
