Whereas, Queen Melinda Dora Morris has played a major role in the productivity of this community; and
Whereas, the residents of the City of Newark is very fond of the accomplishments of this consummate public servant; and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council wants to commemorate the progress made by Queen Melinda Dora Morris in the community, by designating street signage in her honor for all residents to enjoy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT it does hereby authorize the naming of the corner of Springfield Avenue and Jones Street as Queen Melinda Dora Morris Way for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
1. Naming of Springfield Avenue and Jones Street as Queen Melinda Dora Morris Way for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain Springfield Avenue and Jones Street in their entirety.
