WHEREAS, the Newark Police Foundation of New Jersey, located at 744 Broad Street, 26th Floor, Newark New Jersey 07102, wishes to donate thirty (30) Vid-Shield Body Worn Hi-Definition Police Digital Cameras valued at Seventeen Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy Dollars and Zero Cents ($17,970.00); and

WHEREAS, this donation would ensure that Newark Police Officers are safely protected while performing their duties and reduce citizen complaints; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Police Department wishes to accept the gift from the Newark Police Foundation of New Jersey pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:5-29; and

WHEREAS, Newark Police Foundation of New Jersey fully understands and agrees that it is not entitled to receive any direct benefit from the City of Newark in exchange for its gift and shall receive only the indirect benefit of furthering its mission of making the City safer through its gift.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

1. The Mayor and/or his designees the Business Administrator and the Newark Police Director are hereby authorized pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:5-29 to accept a gift from the Newark Police Foundation of New Jersey, 744 Broad street, 26th Floor, Newark, New Jersey 07102, of thirty (30) Vid-Shield Body Worn Hi-Definition Police Dig...
