WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $5,000.00, for the Bioterrorism Preparedness Grant and no provision has been made in the 2017 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by authorizing Resolution 7R2-f dated September 8, 2016, the City of Newark accepted the State of New Jersey Department of Health-Local Core Capacity for Public Health Emergency Preparedness, Bioterrorism Preparedness Grant, in the amount of $237,034.00, bringing the total program resources to $242,034.00 to provide surveillance and health alert network, and the provision of local core capacity infrastructure for bioterrorism preparedness within the City of Newark; and
