TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 6PSF-F, ADOPTED JULY 7, 2016 AMENDING TITLE XLI "THE NEWARK ZONING AND LAND USE REGULATIONS" TO ADD THE DIETZE BUILDING, LOCATED AT 60-64 UNION STREET, NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, BLOCK 185, LOT 68, AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK WITHIN THE CITY OF NEWARK (EAST WARD).

WHEREAS, on July 7, 2016, the Municipal Council adopted Ordinance 6PSF-f, which incorrectly stated that the Newark Landmarks and Historic Preservation Committee approved the request to designate the Property as a Historic Landmark; and

WHEREAS, the Ordinance should have stated that the Newark Landmarks and Historic Preservation Commission approved the request to designate the Property as a Historic Landmark; and

WHEREAS, on July 16, 2014, the Applicant was heard by the Newark Landmarks and Historic Preservation Commission regarding the request to designate the Property as a Historic Landmark; and

WHEREAS, on July 16, 2014, the Newark Landmarks and Historic Preservation Commission approved the request to designate the Property as a Historic Landmark and referred the matter to the Central Planning Board for its review and consideration; and

WHEREAS, on September 28, 2015, a public hearing was held by the Central Planning Board regarding the request to designate the Property as a Historic Landmark was heard by the Central Planning Board; and

WHEREAS, the Central Planning Board approved the Historic Landmark designation after weighing the findings, expert testimony, and testimony of the public, for the Property and referred the matter to the Newark Municipal Council (the "Council"), and Ordinance 6PSF-f was adopted July 7, 2016 adding the Dietze Building as a Newark Historic Landmark.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

Section 1. Title XLI, entitled "The Newark Zoning and Land Use Regulations" is hereby amended to add the Dietze Building, which is located at 60-64 Union Street, Block...
