AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:7, PARKING METER REGULATIONS, GENERALLY, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY REVISING THE PARKING METER RATES IN SECTION 23:7-13.

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering, Division of Traffic and Signals, together with the Newark Parking Authority, City of Newark, desires to revise the parking meter rates for parking throughout Zones 1, 2 and 3.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. The above recitals are hereby incorporated into the body of this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2. Section 23:7, Parking Meter Regulations, Generally, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, shall be and is hereby amended by revising the parking meter rates set forth in Section 23:7-13 as follows, and all other provisions in the Ordinance shall remain in effect:

23:7-13 METER RATES
Zone 1. All the streets in the central business district as defined in Section 23:1-1, excluding therefrom those streets or portions thereof enumerated in Sections 23:5-4 and 23:5-5, the rates shall be as follows:
One Quarter 1510 minutes
Two Quarters 3020 minutes
Three Quarters 4530 minutes
Four Quarters 6040 minutes
Five Quarters 50 minutes
Six Quarters 60 minutes
Zone 2.
a. For those streets or portions thereof, where parking is limited to one (1) hour, as enumerated in Section 23:5-4, the rates shall be as follows:
One Quarter 1510 minutes
Two Quarters 3020 minutes
Three Quarters 4530 minutes
Four Quarters 6040 minutes
Five Quarters 50 minutes
