WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, David Otis Carter, of 61 4th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, was appointed as a Constable pursuant to Resolution 7R8-f, adopted at the April 19, 2017, Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, David Otis Carter, must give a bond in such form and amount as prescribed by the Governing Body and approved as to form and sufficiency by the Acting Corporation Counsel and Municipal Council; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment, and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Constable appointment of David Otis Carter, 61 4th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, is for a term of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
2. The Constable Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 issued to David Otis Carter, 61 4th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, is approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency.
