WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint up to fifty (50) Constables for a term of three (3) years, unless the Council by resolution, fixes a one (1) year term; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark wishes to appoint John Martin Lema, as a Constable, for a three (3) year term pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. John Martin Lema, of 247 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, is hereby appointed as a Constable, in accordance with his application to serve legal notices and executions.
2. Prior to carrying out the duties of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency of Surety by resolution of the Newark Municipal Council.
3. This appointment shall be for a term of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable bond, whichever occurs first.

This resolution hereby authorizes the appointment of John Martin Lema, of 247 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, to serve as a Constable in the City of Newark. for a period of three (3) years from the date of the appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
