WHEREAS, the United States Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, through the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, has implemented the FY2017 Port Security Grant Program, Port of New York/New Jersey, to eligible municipalities and fire districts; and

WHEREAS, on or about June 14, 2017, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of Public Safety, caused to be submitted an application to the United States Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, requesting grant funding in the total amount of $186,571.00 for Fireboats maintenance and sustainment; and Fire Boat Rescue Equipment (a copy of the grant application is attached hereto and made a part hereof); and

WHEREAS, as a result of the grant application, on or about September 21, 2017, the United States Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, through The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, awarded the City of Newark $139,928...
