WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, the City of Newark may appoint up to fifty (50) Constables; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, the City of Newark may appoint a Constable for a term of three (3) years, unless the Municipal Council by its resolution of appointment fixes a one (1) year term; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark wishes to appoint Isabelino Figueroa, Jr., to serve as a Constable for a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Isabelino Figueroa, Jr., 515 Mount Prospect Avenue, Apt. 11F, Newark, New Jersey 07104, is hereby appointed as a Constable, in accordance with his application to serve civil and criminal warrants, written summonses, complaints, repossessions and lockouts.
2. Prior to carrying out duties of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency of Surety by resolution of the Newark Municipal Council.
3. This appointment shall be for a period of three (3) years from the date of the appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
