WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, Jamar T. Piercy, 901-903 South 20th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07108, was appointed as a Constable, pursuant to Resolution 7R8-a adopted at the September 6, 2018 Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, Jamar T. Piercy, 901-903 South 20th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07108, must give a Bond, in such form and amount as prescribed by the Governing Body and approved as to form and sufficiency by the Corporation Counsel; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a Constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment, and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of the Constable appointment of Jamar T. Piercy, 901-903 South 20th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07108, is for three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
2. The Constable Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 issued to Jamar T. Piercy, 901-903 South 20th Street, Newark, New Jersey 07108, is approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency.
