WHEREAS, the City of Newark is desirous of providing venues for wholesome family events that encourages residents to come out and enjoy themselves during the fall months; and
WHEREAS, the Temple Rock Church Harvest Celebration offers children in the community the opportunity to display their favorite Halloween costumes and enjoy food and entertainment in a safe environment; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council indicates its' support of the Temple Rock Church Harvest Celebration co-sponsored by Council Vice President, Luis A. Quintana and Temple Rock Church, to be held on Verona Avenue, between Broadway and Lincoln Place, on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council hereby supports the Temple Rock Church Harvest Celebration, to be held on Verona Avenue between Broadway and Lincoln Place, on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council in co-sponsoring this special event waives the City of Newark's special event permit application fee ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above-base service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
