AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-1, PARKING PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY ADDING PROSPECT ROW, BOTH SIDES, BETWEEN PROSPECT STREET AND ITS WESTERLY TERMINUS (EAST WARD).

WHEREAS, the residents of Prospect Row have submitted a petition for No Parking Anytime on Prospect Row (Both Sides) between Prospect Street and its Westerly Terminus, in the East Ward; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering desires to revise Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, by adding No Parking Anytime restrictions on Prospect Row (Both Sides) between Prospect Street and its Westerly Terminus, in the East Ward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, be amended and supplemented, by adding thereto the following:
Prospect Row, both sides, between Prospect Street and its Westerly
Terminus, in the East Ward
Section 2. Regulatory signs shall be erected and maintained by the City of Newark.
Section 3. Any ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 5. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
