WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, Marques-Aquil D. Lewis, 33 Vaughn Drive, Newark, New Jersey 07103, was appointed as a Constable pursuant to Resolution 7R8-c adopted at the Regular Municipal Council Meeting on October 24, 2018; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, Marques-Aquil D. Lewis, 33 Vaughn Drive, Newark, New Jersey 07103, must give a Bond, in such form and amount, as prescribed by the Governing Body and approved as to form and sufficiency by the Corporation Counsel; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a Constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the resolution of appointment and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of the Constable appointment of Marques-Aquil D. Lewis, 33 Vaughn Drive, Newark, New Jersey 07103, is for a term of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
2. The Constable Bond in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) issued to Marques-Aquil D. Lewis, 33 Vaughn Drive, Newark, New Jersey 07103, is approved as to form, amount and sufficiency.
