WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City of Newark, Division of Traffic and Signals and pursuant to N.J.S.A 39:4-197(3)(a), the following described location is deleted as a bus stop:
DELETE BUS STOP:
1. In the East Ward, along Ferry Street, eastbound on the southerly side thereof:
Saint Francis Street, farside.
Beginning at the easterly curb line of Saint Francis Street and extending 100ft easterly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the East Ward, along Ferry Street the following described location is hereby deleted as a bus stop:
Saint Francis Street, farside.
Beginning at the easterly curb line of Saint Francis Street and extending 100ft easterly therefrom.
2. No Municipal funds need to be expended for this act.
3. No Amendment will be made to this resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council of the City of Newark.
4. Upon approval, the Director of the Department of Engineering will forward a copy of this resolution to the City Clerk’s Office to notify them of the Local Government’s approval for the deletion of a bus stop as stated.
5. Upon approval, a certified copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to New Jersey Transit to notify them of the Local Government’s approval for the deletion of a bus stop as stated.
6. Pursuant to NJSA 39:4-8 (e) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, the proposed bus stop deletion does not require New Jersey Department of Transportation’s approval.

This resolution designates the deletion of a bus stop in the East Ward as follows: In the East Ward, along Ferry Street the following described location is hereby deleted as a bus stop: Saint Francis Street, farside. Beginning at the easterly curb line of Saint Francis Street and extending 100ft easterly therefrom.
