WHEREAS, the City of Newark is desirous of providing meaningful activities for residents exposing them to various diverse community and wholesome family activities; and

 

WHEREAS, the Breya Knight Day Street Festival provides the community with a celebration of life and appreciation of arts and culture.

 

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Breya Knight Day Street Festival, being held on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and New Street, on Sunday, August 11, 2019, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

1.                     The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the “Breya Knight Day Street Festival”, to be held on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and New Street, on Sunday, August 11, 2019, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

 

2.                     The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees ($800.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

This resolution supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the “Breya Knight Day Street Festival”, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees ($800.00), for an event to be held on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and New Street on Sunday, August 11, 2019, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., sponsored by the Council President, Mildred C. Crump.
