WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-87 provides that the Director of the Division Local Government Services may approve the insertion of any Special Item of Revenue in the budget of any local unit when such item shall have been made available by any public or private funding source and the amount thereof shall not have been determined at the time of the adoption of the budget, and may approve the insertion of an appropriation item of equal amount for the purpose of carrying out the special item of revenue, making such item of revenue available for expenditure; and

WHEREAS, by Resolution 7R9-a dated August 7, 2019, the City of Newark accepted the 2018 Body Armor Replacement Fund Program in the amount of $99,870.57 for the purpose of purchasing protective vests for Newark Police Officers; and

WHEREAS, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Criminal Justice has made available $99,870.57 for the 2018 Body Armor Replacement Fund Program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
