WHEREAS, New Jersey Transit's Bus Safety Department conducted an investigation for proposed bus stop location changes due to safety concerns; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City of Newark, Division of Traffic and Signals, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(a), the following described locations are designated as bus stops:
ADD BUS STOPS:
1. In the Central Ward, along 15th Avenue, eastbound on the southerly side thereof:
a. Bruce Street, nearside.
Beginning at the westerly curb line of Bruce Street and extending 105ft westerly therefrom.
2. In the Central Ward, along 15th Avenue, westbound on the northerly side thereof:
a. Bruce Street, farside.
Beginning at the westerly curb line of Bruce Street and extending 100ft westerly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the Central Ward, the following described locations are hereby designated as bus stops:
Along 15th Avenue eastbound on the southerly side of Bruce Street, nearside location. Beginning at the westerly curb line of Bruce Street and extending 105ft westerly therefrom;and
