AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-1, PARKING PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY PROHIBITING PARKING AT ALL TIMES FOR A PORTION OF THE WESTERLY SIDE OF MOUNT PROSPECT AVENUE BETWEEN ABINGTON AVENUE EAST AND BERKELEY AVENUE. WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Public Safety, Fire Division, the Department of Engineering desires to revise Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, by adding No Parking Anytime restrictions on Mount Prospect Avenue, west side, beginning at 105 feet from the northerly curb line of Abington Avenue East and extending 205 feet northerly therefrom to accommodate ambulances, transport vehicles and emergency response vehicles as requested by the City of Newark Fire Department, in the North Ward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, be amended and supplemented by adding thereto the following:
Mount Prospect Avenue, west side, beginning at 105 feet from the northerly curb line of Abington Avenue East and extending 205 feet northerly therefrom, in the North Ward
Section 2. Regulatory signs shall be erected and maintained by the City of Newark.
Section 3. Any ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
