WHEREAS, Irish-Americans from organizations located primarily in Essex, Hudson, and Union counties came together in 1936 to form the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, Inc., sponsor of New Jersey's first and finest Saint Patrick's Day Parade; and

WHEREAS, the 2020 Saint Patrick's Day Parade will be led by Grand Marshal Michael D. Byrne, past General Chairman of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, Inc. while the Deputy Grand Marshal will be Eileen McGinley Hannaford, and President/Executive Chairman of the Kevin J. Hannaford, Sr. Foundation, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, the 2020 Saint Patrick's Day Parade will be dedicated to the late Francis J. "Frank" Coyne, who distinguished himself as a strong supporter of the Saint Patrick's Day Parade for many years; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership of the Grand Marshal and the Deputy Grand Marshal, as well as General Chairman John M. "Jack" Doll, the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee is also the sponsor of Irish Heritage Week in Newark featuring a week-long promotion for restaurants, Art and Essay Contests for students of the Archdiocese of Newark, an Annual Student History Breakfast, the seventh Annual Saint Patrick's Day High...
