WHEREAS, citizens of the City of Newark have requested the installation of a bus shelter at 140 South Orange Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07103; and
WHEREAS, the Central Ward Council Member has requested that City of Newark, Department of Engineering (the "Department") install the bus shelter; and
WHEREAS, the Department has conducted research and determined that 140 South Orange Avenue is a road maintained and operated by the County of Essex (the "County"); and
WHEREAS, the Department has met with the County and it is determined that a Resolution of Support adopted and supporting the placement of the bus shelter at 140 South Orange Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07103 by the Municipal Council is required; and
WHEREAS, the Department is in support of this request and is requesting that the Municipal Council adopt this resolution supporting the communities request for the installation of a bus shelter at 140 South Orange Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07103.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Mayor and/or his designee, the Director of the Department of Engineering, on behalf of the City of Newark, hereby affirm its support of the installation of a bus shelter at 140 South Orange Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07103, which is maintained and operated by the County of Essex.
