WHEREAS, Kevin Lee Allen Design, Inc., d/b/a KLAD, a Women's Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise, located at 1225 Raymond Boulevard, #403, Newark, New Jersey 07102, wishes to facilitate the conveyance of a gift of homemade masks from Sew The Curve Flat to the City of Newark; and
WHEREAS, Sew The Curve Flat, a volunteer network, wishes to donate to the City of Newark (the "City"), Department of Health and Community Wellness ("DHCW"), approximately one hundred fifty (150) Homemade Masks to supplement Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE"), with an approximate total value of Four Hundred Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($450.00), in support of food handling and distribution to the community, during the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Local Public Contracts Law N.J.S.A. 40A:5-29, a local unit is authorized and empowered to accept bequests, legacies, and gifts made to it and is empowered to utilize such bequests, legacies, and gifts in the manner set forth in the conditions of the bequest, legacy, and gift provided, however, that such bequest, legacy, or gift shall not be put to any use, which is inconsistent with the laws of the State of New Jerse...
