WHEREAS, Axon Enterprise, Inc., 17800 North 85th Street, Scottsdale, Arizona 85255, in partnership with the Major Cities Chiefs Association, 300 M Street South East, Suite 402, Washington D.C. 20003 (collectively, the "Donor") wishes to provide a gift of Two Thousand Three Hundred Eighty One Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,381.00) to the Department of Public Safety, Division of Police, for the purpose of providing free meals to Newark Police Officers in recognition of their hard work and efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic (a copy of the gift award letter is attached); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:5-29, a local unit is authorized and empowered to accept bequests, legacies and gifts made to it and is empowered to utilize such bequests, legacies and gifts in the manner set forth in the conditions of the bequest, legacy or gift provided, however, that such bequest, legacy or gift shall not be put to any use which is inconsistent with the laws of the State of New Jersey and the United States of America; and
