WHEREAS, the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs (the "County"), 2020 Essex County Recreation and Open Space Trust Fund Local Aid Program, awards the City of Newark (the "City") a grant for open space acquisition, historic preservation or the development of recreational facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to improve an abandoned park, located at 189-193 West Bigelow Street, Newark, New Jersey 07108 having both passive and non-passive park activities; and
WHEREAS, on February 5th, 2020 the City adopted Resolution 7R11-a (AS) authorizing the Mayor and/or the Director of the Department of Recreation, Cultural Affairs and Senior Services to submit an application package titled "2020 Essex County Recreation and Open Space Trust Fund Local Aid Program Submission for Ridgewood Avenue Park" in the amount of One Hundred Fifty- Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($150,000.00); and
