WHEREAS, the Department of Health and Community Wellness provides nutritional services, nutritional education, immunization screening and education, voter registration, and family care enrollment through the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Program; and
WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Health, Division of Family Health Services, has made grant funds available for the provision of a Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), in the Greater Newark area; and
WHEREAS, on June 30, 2020, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Health and Community Wellness submitted an application to the State of New Jersey Department of Health Division of Family Health Services, requesting grant funding in the amount of Two Million, One Hundred Thousand, Four Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,100,495.00), for the provision of Supplemental Nutrition Services for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in the Greater Newark are...
