The City of Newark's Special Event Application Fee ($50.00) for the event will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the residents of Newark while also bringing attention and awareness to an issue that effects all segments of the society; and
WHEREAS, World Homeless Day provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations such as the Newark Emergency Services for Families (NESF), to bring attention to the issue of homelessness, which has shattered many lives and families, while also providing vital services to individuals and family groups, who are homeless and valuable resources to those on the brink of homelessness; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the World Homeless Day, to be held at Lincoln Park on Friday, October 9, 2020, from 10:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the World Homeless Day to be held at Lincoln Park, on Friday, October 9, 2020, from 10:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organi...
