WHEREAS, the Department of Recreation, Cultural Affairs and Senior Services issues permits to City of Newark residents to host birthday parties and baby showers at (2) two recreation centers, Boylan Street Recreation Center, at 916 South Orange Avenue and Sharpe James/Kenneth A. Gibson Recreation Center, at 226 Rome Street for a rental fee in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($150.00) ; and
WHEREAS, Shirena Caldwell, of 27 Aldine Street, Newark, New Jersey 07112, submitted an event permit application on February 26, 2020 to host a birthday party at Sharpe James/Kenneth A. Gibson Recreation Center on Saturday, April 18, 2020; and
WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic non-essential municipal buildings were ordered closed and stay at home orders issued by the Governor of the State of New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Shirena Caldwell, though no fault of her own, was not able to have the birthday party at Sharpe James/Kenneth A. Gibson Recreation Center on Saturday, April 18, 2020 and requested a refund of ...
