WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and Economic Opportunity granted the City of Newark the following Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) grant through the Newark Workforce Development Board (NWDB) for State Fiscal Year 2022 (April 1, 2022 through October 31, 2022); and
WHEREAS, the goal of the SYEP is to provide In-School and Out-of-School youth and young adults ages 16-24 with valuable internships and help them to successfully transition to the world of work; and
WHEREAS, the SYEP funding must be fully obligated and expended by October 31, 2022 or returned to the State; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be allocated as the following:
