WHEREAS, the City of Newark has acknowledges the great value of its Caribbean community and its expanding resident base with the City; and
WHEREAS, the City encourages continued cultural, economic and political participation in order to expand and empower our diaspora communities; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council wishes to recognize, embrace and celebrate our diverse communities of residents by declaring the month of June as Caribbean Heritage Month.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council proclaims the month of June, as Caribbean Heritage Month throughout the City of Newark, New Jersey.
2. A copy of this Resolution shall be filed with the Office of the City Clerk.

This Resolution proclaims Municipal Council support of declaring the month of June as Caribbean Heritage Month throughout the City of Newark, New Jersey.
