WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $500,000.00 for the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act-Build Back Better Regional Challenge Grant and no adequate provision has been made in the 2022 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the same; and
WHEREAS, by the award letter dated December 14, 2021, the United States Department of Commerce (DOC), Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded the City of Newark the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act - Build Back Better Regional Challenge Grant in the amount of $500,000.00.
