WHEREAS, the City of Newark, (the "City"), is committed to ensuring public safety through the coordination of resources and spirit of cooperation that exists with the Newark Housing Authority (NHA); and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety, Police Division (DPS) and NHA are desirous of implementing a pilot program to enhance quality of life statutes and ordinances through a partnership of collaborative policing; and
WHEREAS, DPS will provide six (6) Police Officers and three (3) patrol cars from July 15, 2022 through August 8, 2022, for (3) three (8) eight hour shifts Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 4:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M.; and
WHEREAS, the total amount of the contract is for an amount not to exceed Forty-Four Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($44,000.00) based on upon the services of six (6) Police Officers for three (3) eight (8) shift hour shifts Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; and
