The City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fees ($550.00) for street closure and street festival will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the Halsey Street Festival provides the residents of the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups, organizations, brick and mortar businesses, families and friends; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of The Halsey Street Festival to be held on Central Avenue to Linden Street with Bleeker Street and New Street closed during the festivities (Central Ward), on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Halsey Street Festival to be held on Central Avenue to Linden Street with Bleeker Street and New Street closed during the festivities (Central Ward), on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M.
