The City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees ($50.00) for the street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the Giving One Tenth Community Garden Newark SAS event provides the City of Newark residents the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups, organizations, families and friends; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Giving One Tenth Community Garden Newark SAS event, to be held at South 20th Street between Springfield Avenue and 19th Avenue on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Giving One Tenth Community Garden Newark SAS event, to be held at South 20th Street between Springfield Avenue and 19th Avenue on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the Giving One Tenth Community Garden Newark SAS event, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of ($50.00), to be held at South 20th Street between Springfield Avenue and 19th Avenue (South Ward), on Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., sponsored by Council Member, Patrick O. Council.
