The City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00) for street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the "Neighborhood Biggest Block Party" Event provides the South Ward's Weequahic section residents the opportunity to enjoy a festive day of food, drink, dancing and music; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated it supports of the "Neighborhood Biggest Block Party" Event will be held on Aldine Street, between Chancellor Avenue and Keer Avenue, from 12:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the "Neighborhood Biggest Block Party" Event will be held on Aldine Street, between Chancellor Avenue and Keer Avenue, on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Fee ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
