The City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fees ($50.00) for street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the "Grand Opening Block Party" provides the West Ward's residents the opportunity to enjoy a festive day of food, drink, dancing and music; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated it supports of the "Grand Opening Block Party" at 475 S. 15th Street, from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the "Grand Opening Block Party" at 475 S. 15th Street (West Ward), on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Fee ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
