WHEREAS, on June 22, 2026, the City of Newark through its Department of Economic & Housing Development advertised to solicit bids for contractors to provide new pedestrian crosswalk configurations, minor reconfigurations to traffic and parking lanes, pedestrian protection measures, and bike lane modifications, as stipulated on the attached plans; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Economic & Housing Development also published the bid package on the City of Newark’s website to provide broader access and download capability to potential bidders; and
WHEREAS, on July 14, 2026, the Department of Economic & Housing Development received one bid in response to Packages B and C of this advertisement; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Economic and Housing Development recommends that the award be made to J.A. Alexander Inc., 130 John F Kennedy Dr N, Bloomfield, New Jersey 07003; and
