The City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees ($500.00 and $250.00 refundable security deposit) for park use and deposit will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the residents of Newark, while also bringing attention and awareness to an issue that effects all segments of the society; and
WHEREAS, Newark Bethel Assembly, Inc., Coat and New Clothing Giveaway for Families in Need at Lincoln Park from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. The City of Newark’s Special Event Application Fee of Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($500.00), along with a Two Hundred Fifty Dollar and Zero Cents ($250.00) refundable security deposit for the event will be waived.
WHEREAS, Newark Bethel Assembly, Inc., Coat and New Clothing Giveaway for Families in Need, to bring attention to the issue of homelessness, which has shattered many lives and families, while also providing vital services to individuals and family groups, who are homeless and valuable resources to those on the brink of homelessness; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Newark Bethel Assembly, Inc., Coat and New Clothing Giveaway for Families in Need at Lincoln Park (Central Ward) from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Newark Bethel Assembly, Inc., Coat and New Clothing Giveaway for Families in Need at Lincoln Park (Central Ward) from 11:00 AM until 1:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($500.00), along with a Two Hundred Fifty Dollar and Zero Cents ($250.00) refundable security deposit, however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the Newark Bethel Assembly, Inc., Coat and New Clothing Giveaway for Families in Need Event, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application of Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($500.00), along with a Two Hundred Fifty Dollar and Zero Cents ($250.00) refundable security deposit, for an event to be held in Lincoln Park (Central Ward), on Thursday, December 23, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., sponsored by Council Member, C. Lawrence Crump.
