                     WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of Thirteen Thousand Eight Hundred Thirteen Dollars and Zero Cents ($13,813.00), for the Seton Hall Nursing Program and no adequate provision has been made in the 2024 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and

 

                     WHEREAS, by the Notice of Award dated January 30, 2024, the Seton Hall University School of Nursing awarded the City of Newark additional funds in the amount of Thirteen Thousand Eight Hundred Thirteen Dollars and Zero Cents ($13,813.00). The aforementioned program will expand and strengthen the nurse workforce for integrated health in vulnerable populations; and

 

                     WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides that the Governing Body, by a two-thirds vote, may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period between the beginning of the current fiscal year and the date of the adoption of the budget for said year; and

 

                     WHEREAS, emergency appropriation adopted in 2024, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 including this Resolution total………………$ 339,186,731.56.

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

1.                     The Governing Body by a two-thirds vote of its full membership hereby amends its temporary budget by making the following temporary emergency appropriation:

 

2.                      A temporary emergency appropriation be and the same is hereby made for the following classification.

This Resolution establishes the temporary emergency appropriation for the Seton Hall University Program FY 2024, in the amount of Thirteen Thousand Eight Hundred Thirteen Dollars and Zero Cents ($13,813.00), The Seton Hall University School of Nursing awarded the funds. The project period is July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
