The City of Newark’s Special Event Application Fee of $300.00 for the Hope and Esperanza Health Fair for the event will be waived.

WHEREAS, The Hope & Esperanza Health Fair will be held on Montclair Avenue between Mt. Prospect Avenue and Woodside Avenue, Newark. The City of Newark’s Special Event Application Fee of $300.00 for the Hope and Esperanza Health Fair event will be waived.
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service and entertainment to the residents of Newark while also bringing attention and awareness to all segments of the society; and
WHEREAS, the “The Hope & Esperanza Health Fair” will enrich the community by giving our area an opportunity while services will be provided to residents living outside of the Newark area, and also serving residents living with chronic conditions such as diabetes and hearts disease, and information at a safe space for community residents needing help with critical topics; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the “Hope & Esperanza Health Fair” being held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, on Montclair Avenue between Mt. Prospect Avenue and Woodside Avenue, Newark, from the hours of 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the “Hope & Esperanza Health Fair” being held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, on Montclair Avenue between Mt. Prospect Avenue and Woodside Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104, from the hours of 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of $300.00, however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.

This resolution supports and declares sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the “Hope & Esperanza Health Fair” being held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, on Montclair Avenue between Mt. Prospect Avenue and Woodside Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07104 from the hours of 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee of $300.00, for an event to be held in the North Ward), co-sponsored by Council President, Luis A. Quintana -At-Large.
