WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is desirous of supporting the Southward Tax Re-Evaluation Town Hall Meeting at George Washington Carver Elementary School, 333 Clinton Place, Newark, New Jersey 07112, on Tuesday, January 28, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event by supporting the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of Newark Public Schools, 765 Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Blvd., Newark, New Jersey 07102.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of Newark Public Schools, 765 Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Blvd., Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of George Washington Carver Elementary School, 333 Clinton Place, Newark, New Jersey 07112, for a Southward Tax Re-Evaluation Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to Newark Public Schools, 765 Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Blvd., Newark, New Jersey 07102, for their records.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
4. This resolution is ratified back from the date of adoption to January 28, 2025.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports the issuance, by the City of Newark’s Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of Newark Public Schools, 765 Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Blvd., Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of George Washington Carver Elementary School, 333 Clinton Place, Newark, New Jersey 07112, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., for Southward Tax Re-Evaluation Town Hall Meeting. This resolution is ratified back from the date of adoption to January 28, 2025.
