WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is desirous of supporting the performance of I Dream A World, Songs & Verse to Inspire a Nation at George Washington Carver Elementary School, 333 Clinton Place, Newark, New Jersey 07112, (Auditorium and Parent Room) Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.; (includes Set-up at 12:00 P.M. and Breakdown Ending at 5:00 P.M.)
and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event by supporting the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of George Washington Carver Elementary School, 333 Clinton Place, Newark, New Jersey 07112.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Newark Municipal Council supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of George Washington Carver Elementary School, 333 Clinton Place, Newark, New Jersey 07112, (Auditorium and Parent Room) Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., (Includes Set-up at 12:00 P.M. and Breakdown Ending at 5:00 P.M.) for the performance of I Dream A World, Songs & Verse to Inspire a Nation.
2. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the George Washington Carver Elementary School, 333 Clinton Place, Newark, New Jersey 07112, for their records.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports the issuance, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of the George Washington Carver Elementary School, 333 Clinton Place, Newark, New Jersey 07112, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of the George Washington Carver Elementary School, 333 Clinton Place, Newark, New Jersey 07112, (Auditorium and Parent Room) on Saturday, April 25, 2026 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., (includes Set-up at 12:00 P.M. and Breakdown Ending at 5:00 P.M.) for the performance of I Dream A World, Songs & Verse to Inspire a Nation, sponsored by Council Member, Patrick O. Council, South Ward.
