WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is desirous of supporting the Annual Holiday Parade of Lights on Mount Prospect Avenue (beginning on Elwood Avenue, between Summer Avenue and Mount Prospect Avenue and concluding on Second Avenue and Mount Prospect Avenue), Newark, New Jersey 07104, on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event by supporting the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of Essex County Department of Public Works, Division of Roads and Bridges, 99 W Bradford Ave, Cedar Grove, New Jersey 07009.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of the Essex County Department of Public Works, Division of Roads and Bridges, 99 W Bradford Ave, Cedar Grove, New Jersey 07009, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Mount Prospect Avenue (beginning on Elwood Avenue, between Summer Avenue and Mount Prospect Avenue and concluding on Second Avenue and Mount Prospect Avenue), Newark, New Jersey 07104, on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., for the Annual Holiday Parade of Lights.
2. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the Essex County Department of Public Works, Division of Roads and Bridges, 99 W Bradford Ave, Cedar Grove, New Jersey 07009, for their records.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports the issuance, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of the Essex County Department of Public Works, Division of Roads and Bridges, 99 W Bradford Ave, Cedar Grove, New Jersey 07009, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Mount Prospect Avenue (beginning on Elwood Avenue, between Summer Avenue and Mount Prospect Avenue and concluding on Second Avenue and Mount Prospect Avenue), Newark, New Jersey 07104, on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., for the Annual Holiday Parade of Lights, sponsored by Council Member, Anibal Ramos, Jr.
